There is an extensive range of allergy and intolerance tests available in recent times. Some have been proven to be of no value while others seem to be reliable and accurate.
Many unconventional allergy tests ranging from electrodermal tests to trace metal estimation in hair samples exist to backup diagnosis of allergies. These tests are unvalidated and are sometimes promoted by complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practitioners. Sad enough, most of the tests diagnose non-existent illnesses; they waste of money and end up diverting attention from actual allergies; thus, delaying conventional treatments.
